pause, think about it...

It happened again yesterday. I was on a brief rant with some of the things that happen regularly on Main Street, and some things that have been promised for years and are still, "being reviewed". One responded with a simple answer. He was once the Bulldog of Main Street. But now, since he found out his wife has cancer, he has decided to slow down and pay attention to what is important. He cannot fix any of the problems on Main Street. He has been on Main since forever, and still problems occur. So what is important: family, friends, God, church, helping others, being aware of what really is your responsibility. There is a lot more, but I now believe that what was lurking on the horizon, is now seeping under the front door....

I think it is a sad reminder to have brought to you in the respect that it is taking cancer to catch attention. I'm sorry for their time of struggle. Mom and I were reading in Hebrews 12 this morning and talking about struggle being discipline. I suppose we all need to realize that we are in constant stages of discipline as children of God. God, family, friends, helping those around us, taking care of the poor, homeless and widowed are always at our doorstep and how often we need to be reminded to not step over them but to see them and do our part. Oh, if we could just open our doors wide to our purposes more often. Those who have been reminded so vividly truly should not have to be reminded again but that is why we must seek God's strength and not our own because we so much need his assistance and cannot do this on our own.

I love you pa! I hope you enjoy your blog spot!
